TDC - Ticket Deadline Control
Updated on 21 Jul 2023

TAP  bookings, as well as, other airlines, comply with settled issuance time limits, known as Ticket Deadline Control (TDC).

These deadlines follow different parameters depending on fare package and/or booking classes (RBD = Reservation Booking Designator). When a booking is finished an automatic TDC message will show up in the PNR with the deadline for issuance of passenger’s travel documents. If not issued on time, flights or services will be canceled and the airline cannot guarantee reinstatement of the originally booked flights or services.

New parameters from September 14, 2021

Notes

✓Please note that TAP Air Portugal reserves the right to request ticket numbers prior to the above deadlines for flight firming purposes. In such a case
a new SSR message will be generated via your GDS and will take precedence. Failure to comply will result in your booking being cancelled. Once cancelled, it may not be possible to reinstate the booking under the same conditions.

✓If more than one TTL applies to a booking, the most restrictive one will always be used, based on the date of the first TP segment.

✓Moreover, it is  necessary to verify if the applied fare does not have a more restrictive deadline (advance purchase rule, AP)  that overrides the TDC.

✓It is not authorized to atempt issuance of such fares beyond the due date (ex: R,DO-OBD in Amadeus, FQT in Galileo); an ADM will be issued with the difference to the valid fare at time of booking!

✓Services like extra baggage, seat selection and others, have their own deadlines for issuance of an EMD associated to the SSR line.
