Considering that the entry regulations in each country may change at any time, and that each destination has its own specific procedures, please confirm HERE what the entry requirements are and the procedures due to COVID-19.  Always confirm the information with official government agencies.

Please be advised that it is the responsibility of the passenger to comply with all government policies and entry requirements and failure to comply may result in denied boarding for the flight or entry to the destination.

 ONLINE FORM

All travelers are required to complete an online Health Declaration Form  no more than 3 days before traveling to Ghana. Passengers may also be asked to complete hard copy self-declaration forms on the flight, confirming they are fit to travel and providing details to facilitate contact tracing.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
 
All international arrivals including those from the ECOWAS region will be required to meet health requirements prior to admission into Ghana by the Ghana Immigration Service.

TESTS and CERTIFICATES:

  • Children up to 10 years old - no requirements
  • Children between 10 and 17 - full vaccination certificate + QR code obtained at PANABIOS OR negative PCR test performed within 48h before boarding. 
  • Over 18 years old:
    • Nationals or residents: full vaccination certificate + QR code obtained in PANABIOS OR negative PCR test performed within 48h prior to boarding
    • Foreigners: mandatory full vaccination certificate + QR code obtained in PANABIOS - PCR test is NOT valid as an alternative to the boarding of passengers without vaccination results in fine to TAP

On 21 April 2021 the Government of Ghana introduced the mandatory digitisation of all COVID-19 tests for international air travel, with the implementation of the Trusted Travel Scheme. Read more HERE

ADDITIONAL INFO for passengers that must present negative Covid-19 Tests and/or undergo mandatory Covid-19 tests on arrival: 

  • Negative COVID-19 test result taken no more than 48 hours prior to departure for Ghana with one of the vendors listed: https://africacdc.org/trusted-travel/. The test must be submitted in digital format. Passengers will need to create an account at https://trustedtravel.panabios.org/ (using the same email address and cell phone number given by the passenger to the PCR test provider, so that a Travel Code (TC) can be generated; The passenger will receive their TC code, which they can copy or download, It is also recommended to travel with a hard copy of the test.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival at Kotoka International airport. The test is an antigen fluorescent immunoassay test and it will be conducted before baggage is collected at a cost of $150 per passenger (or $50 for Ghanaian citizens)Payment should be made online prior to boarding. Children under the age of five are exempt.

 

QUARANTINE
  • Travelers who test positive for COVID-19 on their test on arrival in Ghana must quarantine for 7 days at a designated health facility.
  • Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated Ghanaians and residents of Ghana must quarantine at home for 7 days or get vaccinated after their arrival in Ghana.

Note: Quarantine and / or medical costs can be expensive so it is important that all passengers arrive with adequate access to financial resources. 

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE
 
The Government of Ghana also advise that all arrivals should have valid insurance. It is more important than ever to get travel insurance and check it provides sufficient cover.
