Status and Benefits Miles&Go

Whenever flying with TAP and the Star Alliance network, frequent flyers earn Status Miles. These miles are used to maintain or achieve TAP Miles&Go Gold or Silver status and provide access to an extra benefit for TAP Miles&Go customers. 

By joining the programme automatically gives you access to TAP Miles&Go status.

The Annual Mileage Accrual Period is the period of time during which the Customer may qualify for a higher status level or re-qualify for his/her current status.

The accumulation of miles or segment count is not permitted on Premium, Miles Only or Miles & Cash tickets, nor on tickets with categories ID, AD, BP, DG, DM, GE, IN, RG or UD (discount industry tickets), as defined by IATA regulations.

Status Miles are not added to the Miles account and therefore cannot be used for Award Tickets and other services.

1. TAP Miles&Go

The base level of the TAP Miles&Go Programme is called TAP Miles&Go, and is attributed upon registration. 

 

Miles&Go Benefits:

  • Fly With Status: when the Client reaches 50% of the requirements for Silver status, they receive a benefit of their choice - baggage, seat booking or Fast Track on their next trip with TAP.
  • Miles Ticket: convert miles into MilesOnly and Miles&Cash Tickets (TAP) and Award Tickets (other companies);
  • Products and services: Clients can earn miles and use them to travel and purchase products and services from the TAP Miles&Go Programme;
  • Round-the-world tickets: exchange miles for the round-the-world ticket and fly with Star Alliance companies
  • Get Child Tickets with a 25% MilesOnly or Miles&Cash discount for TAP flights
  • Advance Miles: if the Client doesn't have enough miles to buy a trip, they can get up to 500 miles in advance.
  • Upgrade and experience everything Business Class has to offer
  • Access to offers and promotions. 
  • Birthday gift1

1To receive the gift, the Client must authorise the sending of email communications and the processing of their data by the TAP Miles&Go Programme in the month before their birthday. To do this, visit the Manage Privacy tab on the My Profile page.

Only Status Miles count for membership of TAP Miles&Go Silver and TAP Miles&Go Gold.

2. TAP Miles&Go Silver

Membership of TAP Miles&Go Silver is automatic as soon as the regulated number of miles is accumulated. The mileage account statement shows the number of Status Miles accumulated.

To be eligible for TAP Miles&Go Silver Customer status, the TAP Miles&Go Customer must accumulate 30,000 Status Miles or, alternatively, account for 25 flights/segments operated by TAP during the annual qualifying period.

To remain a Silver Customer, 20,000 Status Miles or 15 TAP flights/segments flown during the annual qualifying period are required.

 

Silver Benefits:

  • All the benefits of TAP Miles&Go status except Fly With Status, i.e. access to an extra benefit when you reach 15,000 Status Miles or 12 segments flown with TAP.
  • 25% additional miles on the number of miles flown. For TAP flights only. 
  • Advance Miles: if the Client doesn't have enough miles to buy a trip, they can get up to 5.000 miles in advance. 
  • Priority Check-in valid on TAP flights, except in Discount
  • Seat reservation on flights operated by TAP. Only available for Standard seats
  • Exclusive Service: Silver Clients have access to an exclusive TAP telephone line and counters.
  • Newspapers and magazines: Silver Customers can download up to 3 titles from the Digital Kiosk.
  • Unlimited Lounge access on intercontinental flights and 4 accesses on European or North African flights operated by TAP departing from Lisbon (benefit available per annual qualification period). See available lounges.
  • Fast Track 
  • Priority boarding on TAP flights;
  • Priority on the waiting list over non-loyalised customers under the same conditions.

3. TAP Miles&Go Gold

Membership of TAP Miles&Go Gold is automatic as soon as the regulated number of miles is accumulated. The mileage account statement shows the number of Status Miles accumulated.

To be eligible for TAP Miles&Go Gold Customer status, the customer must accumulate 70,000 Status Miles or, alternatively, account for 50 flights/segments operated by TAP during the annual Status Miles accrual period.

To remain a Gold Customer, the customer must accrue 50,000 Status Miles or 40 TAP flights/segments flown during the annual qualifying period.

 

Gold Benefits:

  • Gold Clients will have access to all the benefits of TAP Miles&Go Silver status.
  • 50% additional miles on the number of miles flown. For TAP flights only. In addition to 50% Bonus Miles, Gold Clients earn 50% Status Miles on the total number of miles flown. 
  • Companion ticket: when flying with a paid ticket, Gold Clients can choose one person to accompany them when travelling for fewer miles (up to a maximum of 40%)1.
  • More hold baggage: on TAP or Star Alliance flights, one extra piece depending on the class in which the Customer is travelling.
  • Exemption from some penalties and service charges
  • Bonus miles that don't expire: when renewing Gold status, the Customer keeps their miles ready to use. The benefit is not available for Gold partners2
  • Earlier Ponte Aérea with no fees: by bringing forward a Ponte Aérea flight to the same day, the Client is exempt from the change fee if it is requested on the same day as the original flight, except for the Discount fare.

  • Comfort seat reservation (red seats) at no extra cost on TAP flights only;
  • Exclusive check-in counter for Star Alliance Gold Customers
  • Exclusive Service: Gold Clients have access to an exclusive TAP telephone line and counters
  • Access to the Lounge whenever the Client travels on a TAP or Star Alliance flight. Also available for 1 companion travelling on the same flight. See available lounges.
  • Access to Fast Track, allowing faster boarding when travelling on TAP flights. 
  • Priority boarding
  • Priority on the waiting list over non-Loyalty Customers under the same conditions
  • Advance Miles: if the Client doesn't have enough miles to buy a trip, they can get up to 10.000 miles in advance.

The access voucher will be sent by email the day before the flight. The voucher is limited to a single access. It can be used on more than one device, as long as you create an account and redeem the voucher with the login made to that account. Only one device can be used at a time.

  • Free Gold status for a friend: offer valid for as long as the Navigator Customer maintains their status. To request changes, you must wait until the end of the Annual Accrual Period.
  • Up to 10% of transferable miles: if you accumulate more than 100,000 Status Miles, a portion2 is carried over during your status review;
  • Free seat reservation for the Navigator Customer and passengers on the same booking;
  • Free transport of sports equipment on our aeroplanes3 .
