TSA Precheck - expedited airport security screening at US airports
Updated on 07 Nov 2019

TAP is  able to offer expedited airport security screening to our customers  in conjunction with the Transportation Security Administration and its TSA Pre programme.

TSA Pre✓™  screening program allows pre-approved airline travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their compliant liquids/gels plastic bag in a carry-on in select screening lanes.

TSA Pre✓™ is available at TAP’s airport operations at New York’s JFK, Newark Liberty, Boston Logan, and Miami International, Chicago O’Hare, San Francisco International and Washington-Dulles airports.

As of February 19, 2019, our boarding passes are prepared for being read by 'fast security' controls, thanks to the 'TSA PreCheck & Digital Signature' feature created by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

  • Eligible passengers under the 'Trusted Traveler Program' of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS);
  • Children up to 12, provided that they are accompanied by an eligible passenger.

TSA Pre✓™ is also available for U.S. Armed Forces service members, including those serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Reserves and National Guard. Later this year TSA will launch an application program, allowing more U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents (LPRs) to enroll in TSA Pre✓™.

To be eligible to participate in TSA Pre✓®, foreign citizens must meet specific citizenship/residency requirements.

For further details, please check the TSA Pre™  website.
