Mandatory use of face mask
Updated on 28 Oct 2020

The use of a face mask is mandatory when boarding, during flight and disembarkation! Therefore, all our passengers from the age of 6, must be equipped with one and guarantee that it is used during the entire duration of the journey. The use of a face shield does not replace the use of a face mask!

The use of a face mask will only be exempted for passengers who are proven to have health problems that prevent them from being able to use it at all times. In these cases, prior to the flight and in order to travel, the passenger must submit a medical authorization (MEDIF) to TAP, otherwise, boarding will be denied.

We also advise that passengers are informed about any other specific regulations that may exist at their points of origin and destination, namely at airport premises.

According to the Italian authorities, on all flights to/from Italy as well as at Italian airports, a surgical or higher-grade disposable face mask is mandatory and must be replaced every 4 hours. Reusable masks (eg made of cloth) are not allowed.
As decreed by the French authorities, it is mandatory that all passengers of the age 11 and above wear a surgical mask. Children of the age of 6 and above are still required to wear a suitable mask.
