At departure

We recommend these passengers arrive at the airport in advance:

  • Check-in/bag delivery for Intercontinental Flights – 3 hours before departure
  • Check-in/bag delivery for Domestic / European and North Africa Flights – 2 hours before departure

TAP and Star Alliance Gold members or passengers traveling in Business Class, may use the services in the Premium area.

On Board

When boarding the aircraft, our crew will provide assistance and information about:

  • The seat location in the aircraft (proximity to doors and emergency exits, toilets, etc.);
  • Where to find the call buttons and the entertainment system;
  • The location of the oxygen mask and how to use it;
  • The description of what is on the tray at meal time;
  • How to get to the toilet. However, no assistance can be provided inside the toilet.
  • The safety instructions are available in Braille. In our newer aircraft there is also other useful information, such as the number of seats and instructions on how to use the toilet.

On Arrival

Our staff will meet the passengers at the aircraft door on arrival for transfer at or final destination and will accompany them through the entire process of passport control, luggage reclaim and customs.

Travel with assistance dogs

The assistance dogs of passengers who are visually impaired, deaf, or have reduced mobility and other disabilities (SSR SVAN) are transported by TAP at no cost and travel inside the cabin.

Guide dogs, hearing dogs and service dogs (SSR SVAN):

  • They have to be properly identified as assistance animals with documentation proving they have been officially trained and certified;
  • They can travel at the owner’s feet, without a transport container;
  • They cannot occupy a seat;
  • They must be on a leash;
  • They cannot move around the cabin.
