Scuba diving gear

Sports equipment can be transported free of charge as hold baggage, as long as it does not exceed the weight and dimensions* allowed by the baggage allowance associated with the issued fare. In which case the type and measurements of the equipment must be indicated in SSR.

* Regardless of the actual linear dimensions, for a diving equipment bag the regular linear dimensions of 158cm / 62 inches will be disregarded.

Example: a passenger traveling with a Basic fare (1PC) will be able to check for free, a diving equipment bag with 175cm and 23 kg of weight.

The maximum allowed weight will be 32 kg (according to safety and health standards at work).


Scuba divers can take the following equipment with them, packed as a single piece:

  • One empty scuba tank;
  • One scuba regulator;
  • One tank pressure gauge;
  • One tank harness; 
  • One diving mask;
  • A pair of fins;
  • One snorkel;
  • One dive knife;
  • One spear gun;
  • One wetsuit.

Conditions of carriage:

  • Regardless of  the actual dimensions, a set of scuba diving equipment will be considered a single piece of baggage, with outer linear dimensions of 158cm/62in;
  • The maximum weight will be 32kg/70lbs;
  • In order to be checked as baggage for transport in the hold, the scuba gear must be properly packed so that it can be transported safely and resist to the normal pressure of the cargo compartment.
  • If equipment contains underwater torches check the chapter “Restricted Articles – Regulation for Dangerous Goods” for safety rules that must be followed.

Domestic, European and Morocco Flights: 55€ / 70USD / 90CAD

Intercontinental Flights: 110€ / 140USD / 175CAD

Rates in other currencies shall be converted at the BBR - Bank Buying Rate. 

Rates apply on TP/NI/WI operated flights if gear exceeds size, weight or number of pieces permitted in the free baggage allowance.
