Seat reservations must be made in advance and are subject to the fare conditions of the ticket (rates applicable on DISCOUNT, BASIC and CLASSIC fares).

Seat reservations are subject to availability.

The value of this service is non-refundable but may be reused on another flight/date with similar conditions.

This service is only available on flights operated by TAP or on its behalf¹ and by TAP Express.

• Standard Seats - Free of charge 3H before the flight: Since February 23, 2023, standard seats are free of charge 3 hours before the flight (at airports and kiosks), so that families who wish to sit together or individual passengers can change their seats. Outside the 3-hour window, the change of seat in the standard area will be charged (for tickets whose fare/brand does not include the free standard seat reservation).
  TAP recommends that passengers choose their seats in advance so that they can travel together and in the seats they prefer. (Seats are subject to availability and/or payment, according to the fare purchased).
• From 05 July 23, flights operated on 2N (SmartLynx), F6 (Fly2Sky) and YU (Euroatlantic) aircraft will no longer offer Comfort Seats for purchase or selection (if applicable). In Economy Cabin only First Row (if available), Standard and Emergency Exit Seats will be available for purchase or selection (if applicable).
• In case of an aircraft change. the “Smart Reseating” system will replace the assigned seat with another keeping the same characteristics (Emergency Row/Leg Space, Comfort seat or Standard seat). Due to different equipment, the chosen/purchased row may be changed to another. However, the system will check and assign a new seat with the same characteristics. For example, seat 6C "Comfort" seat and can be changed to seat 8D which also corresponds to a "Comfort" seat.
• From 19 February 24, the EMD-A used in the Seats auxiliary service will change from "multicoupon" to "monocoupon", which means that instead of issuing one EMD-A with several coupons for the seats booked in the PNR, an EMD-A will be issued for each seat booked in the PNR.
• In case a passenger is assigned a seat of lower value than the one he paid for,  a refund through EMD issued by Fale Connosco is due.
• If a passenger voluntarily cancels or re-assigns a seat after EMD issuance, the paid amount is not refundable but can be used for the same type of service within 1 year from the date of EMD issuance. 
• In case of loss of connection due to flight irregularity and the same type of seat is not available on the new flight, the service may be fully refunded and refund processed through our services at  "Fale Connosco" / Talk to us
• In reservations with multiple passengers, each passenger should be associated with a seat separately. Thus, there should be as many lines with seating information as the number of passengers. If a passenger is exempt from payment and his/her seat is assigned on the same line as another passenger who is not, the system can not differentiate and will cancel both seats if the deadline for payment is reached and there is no valid EMD.
• Seat Assignments - Families: TAP assigns seats automatically and free of charge at check-in, in the standard area, for adults and children in the same booking, regardless of the chosen fare. Whenever possible, and whenever available, adult seats will be assigned in the same row of seats as the child, or in an adjacent row.
  We recommend that passengers choose their seats for the whole family in advance to ensure that they travel together and in their preferred seats.

	Comfort area: red seats Front row seats in Economy Class, with extra space and comfort. They offer a quieter area, with reclining seats and adjustable headrests. On Long-haul flights, the first row seats (Leg Space) have more space, on A330-900, A330-200 and A321LR aircraft.
	Emergency Exit Seats3 Seats with more legroom to fly more comfortably. These seats are mostly located in the Comfort Area (on medium-haul) or between the Comfort Area and the Standard Area (on long-haul).
	Standard Area: Green Seats Seats which usually offer the best value, in an area with the widest choice - from the last row of Comfort Class to the last row of Economy Class.
